Okay, I went out for a boat ride and when it was idling in forward, I noticed the tach was at 6200, so I decided to turn the motor off and see if I started it up again, if it would reset. Well, needless to say the motor would not turn over. It seem to have blown a fuse in the back of the motor.
I got the fuse replaced and did not hook up the tach this time before I started it. It ran fine. But why would the tach not go to "0"?
I am nervous about hooking the tach up to it again as I do not enjoy rowing back to shore like yesterday. I believe the tach is the problem, but I am not sure why. I paid $175 for it and only used it a few times. I have never dropped it or abused it. So is it the tach, or is there another electrical problem I don't know about?
Thanks in advance....
