My tach was not working due to broken glass on meter. I installed a new tach and replaced the wires correctly. The tach moves to the bottom of meter when the key is turned on but does not show any rpm when motor is running. The manuel states that the solid GREY wire goes from the stator to the tach. My question is - where on the motor can I find the grey wire from the stator to see if the problem is with the stator or a broken/dirty connection. The motor is a 1998 Johnson 115 -J115ELECM.
