Tachometer issue

I have an issue with a tachometer with System Check. 1997 Ocean Pro

It seems to work OK, but when I shut down the motor the tachometer stays in place until I turn the ignition back on. Then it goes back to zero. I assume it?s a wring issue but not sure where to look first.

I noticed it happening everyone and a while before but it is now starting to happen on a regular basis.

Dingbat, What you describe is normal operation for a lot of tachometers. You might go on the manufacturer's website and see if it is normal for your Tach to behave that way.
