Hello all,

I have Bayliner 1985. All the sudden my tachometer stopped working. I checked power=14 ground and signal=9.6. Should I start looking for new tach?
There is not much information about tachometer in my owner manual and repair manual.
It is Thomas G.Faria Co.

Thanks

Alex

Moving to Electrics, Electronics and Trolling Motors (not engine)

Neither, it has to do with the number of cylinders on your engine.

Re: tachometer question

I believe it's the hole diameter to mount. Look in the manual to see how many poles your stator has. You will need to replace your tach with one that will handle that number of poles. I'm assuming outboard here... if you have an I/O, it's a different story.
