TACHOMETER setting for an 80's merc

Okay, I installed a tach and it wired right into the quicksilver control box, I am just trying to figure out how to set the tach (the dial on the back has 5 or so settings like 6P and others).

5903423 is the motor SN, its an 81 mercury 80Hp outboard, Thanks.
