I have a 1996 Evinrude 130hp. The tach quit working while cruising & now is stuck at 4000 rpm<br />even when disconnected. The tach (model unknown) is equipted with 4 warning lights & external <br />buzzer that monitor engine temp, oil level etc. With the key in the on position buzzer should <br />sound once & each light cycles on then off, all has quit working. The tach is wired with a 8 pin <br />quick release connector & contains the following wires puple, grey, black & 5 brown with colored<br />tracers. At the tach I have verified ground on the black, 13v on the puple with the key on & <br />have 3.5v (was expecting 7v) on the grey with the engine running. All other gauges & lights <br />are ok & engine seems to be running normal. Is it the tach or something else, any thought?
