My tachometer on my Tracker pontoon with a 2008 50 horse mercury 2 stroke isn't working. I ran some current tests and it has power and ground and it's getting a signal from the motor. When the ignition is off it shows about 400 rpms, when I turn the key the needle drops to 0. I know the stator is good because the battery charges fine. Are there any other signs of a bad voltage regulator. The wires are in perfect condition. No melting or anything.
