Tachometer wacky after 3-4 min. Operation 1994 johnson 150

Well, I seemed to fix my carburetor idling problem. Not really sure how.
now on the test run boat ran great but after a few mins. the Tach needle goes wacky spinning all over the place then after a throttle slowdown it goes back to normal then wacky again. I'm thinking 1. bad tach 2. loose ground wire ?
The Tach wire comes out of the Stator, Correct?
Anyone had this issue ?

Sounds to me like your rectifier is going (or has gone) bad. Probably more likely than the tach going bad.
