Hi to you all!

I´m planning to assembly a tachometer for my boat. The engine is 120hp 1992 Force. There are two cables that say they are ment for tachometer, grey and purple. If I go to store and get a tach that has three places to wire current, ground, and tach pulse do I get the pulse from purple or grey? Or am I out of the game with this idea, hope not..

-Jaba-

Re: Tachometer wiring

It's easier to just link you to the folks who make the tachs. There is a problem with Force, and thier use of 20-pole stator windings.
Teleflex PDF....

You'll need Adobe reader for that one.

And this one goes into depth on the Force explaination;
Read question #10 of the link below----

Teleflex explains Force

Re: Tachometer wiring

Allright, got it.. Now can someone tell me, would a standard tach fit to my purposes, or do I have the prestolite system? Engine has the following numbers: 1201x920 and the serial: 025028. Thank you for your help again. I´ve said it before and I say it again : This forum is awesome!

-Jaba-
