Folks, I'd like to put a tach on my outboard (actually on my console). I have a 1983 Johnson 60HP (J60ELCTB). The control box has a three-prong connection for a tach. The issue is finding one with a wiring harness (or at least the proper adapter). There are lots on ebay, but the part# doesn't match the J/E part#? The flush mount part# is 073493 on the J/E parts site. It appears to only be the tach (without a cable). I can't seem to find the plug no matter how hard I search! I found one "locally" with part# 174629. The ebay picture shows a plug that looks like it would "mate" with the one on my control box. The picture shows a J/E plastic container, but the part# doesn't show on a search (J/E parts site). I looked on iboats, but it appears there are only aftermarket tachs. Sooooo is there a J/E part which has the tach, connector plug and mounting hardware? Perhaps an aftermarket kit? My local parts dealer has been less than helpful. Thanks in advance for any help.
