Re: tachometer

Any aftermarket OUTBOARD tach will work on that motor, provided you have moved the brown wire from the switchbox to the AC side of the rectifier.

Re: tachometer

I'm searching on ebay and I see all these tachs for pretty cheap, kinda hard to tell which one will work, any recommendations? thanks, Jason

Re: tachometer

It should have a setting option for "poles". Could be 6 or 12 poles.

Try searching for marine tach, that will narrow your choices.

If the tach only has settings for 4,6 or 8 cyl it most likely will NOT work with your motor.

Re: tachometer

That looks just like the Quicksilver tach I have. There is a selector switch on the back for 4,6,8, cyl and 12P. If it is the same as mine, it will work with your motor.
