Well, after thorough review of both the Seloc and Clymer manuals, I've decided that I don't have the skills necessary to rebuild the power head, so I've decided to take the plunge and buy myself a new 90ELPTO. Does anyone know if the current control box that I have from my 75HP 1984 Merc will work? I have the QuickSilver control with the toggle Trim Switch. The wiring configuration has an 8 point connector plug.

Thanks
Paul

Not sure if it's going to be compatible . Best thing would be to replace the control box as well ( that ways it's all new ) .
The Mercury 90ELPTO is as good as it get's for 2 stroke's heaps of power when you need it .

Thanks Akinghi, I took the boat in and they stated that it would be compatible. Just a few more days and I'll have my new baby!!!

If you are buying a new motor then the control unit would be included in the price - why use and old controller? It may look a bit strange too.
