Hi guys. I picked up an old Tanaka 1.2hp at a garage sale and have a question about the carb. There are 2 barbs on the carb. The larger one is where the fuel enters the carb from the fuel ****, but there is a smaller one below it with nothing hooked to it. What is this for? The motor runs without anything hooked to it, but it does leak fuel out of it. Do I just plug it and call it good? Thanks for the help!

No mention of it in my after market manual. My guess is some sort of overflow
in the event of flooding. You might look around for a place to hook it to.
If gas comes out and you plug it you may get flooded out but give it a try.

Thank you SS. It has a barb on it like a hose should go there, but there's nowhere to hook it into. Oh well. I'll try plugging it and see what happens. Thanks for the help.

i just aquired a tanaka 1.2 like the one you mentioned, that auxiliary barb is an overfloat in prevent of flooding,if fuel spills out of it dismantle carb and soak it in carb cleaner liquid and give it another try.
