Tank going from 2-stroke fuel to 4-stroke fuel

I am repurposing my long cruise tank going from 2-stroke fuel to 4-stroke fuel. The tank has been emptied and left to air out for quite a while. Can I simply slosh around a gallon or two of gas (gas-only) in the tank to help absorb any remaining oil residue as a way to make it ready for gas-only?

If it is clean and empty go ahead and use it......a small amount of oil will not hurt the 4 stroke

Might get a little bit of smoke, but I doubt even that.

Concur, the tiny bit of oil left in the tank won't hurt anything, I have run 50:1 in my mower quite a few times , cars even and it doesn't hurt anything, wouldn't do it all the time but a little won't hurt.

Oil is suspended in gas with very, very little agitation. If you siphoned out the gas, you got the oil as well. Even in the off chance you left a pure 6 oz. of straight oil in there, reduced with 25 fresh gas would bring your ratio in the 500:1 range. Not enough for the engine to know it's there. Fill & go boating!
