it wasnt very easy to put the top on, forgot how awkward and heavy it was. there is small 1/4" gap in front driver side for about 6 rivits worth. it shouldnt be a problem once i can walk in there. 5 to 7 days for 3m 5200 that i put ontop of the stringers and before the screws went in. it is nice to see something that looks better when its not topless.

http://www.shareaproject.com/pages/projectThumbs,p,63,00.html

Looks good TenE, looks like you'll make it for summer. Hows come ya used 5200 between the stringers and floorboards instead of epoxy?

the main reason for the 5200, was after i had to grind off the fiberglass curving on the tops of the stringers, i didnt have a flat top on the stringers. with that i thought the 5200 would have a less chance to sag and more stretch. i was affraid i would squeaze out too much epoxy. it prob would have been easier to work with the epoxy, getting pretty good mixing and placing after about 7 gallons of practice.

Thats an amazing project. Is it costing much? It seems that an older bowrider such as the 16 footer would be cheaper to buy a good one? Any way great work and you'll be much more proud of this boat, however noone will see your hard work once it's on the water.

the cost (im hopeing and will add it all up once it touches water) will be less than $3500 total. i bought the boat for $1000 and am guessing that i spent $2500 in fixing it up. i know the store that i bought all the epoxy and fiberglass from has taken about $1000 from me. i will be very proud of this project when its done, even though nobody will be able to tell its rebuilt until i rebuild the cushoins.
