Re: tapping out sheared stanless bolt

Do a search on this forum for stuck bolts. Lots of good info here. If the bolt is not frozen and likely (and I emphasize likely) to come out easy, you can use an EZ-out extractor. However, a word of caution... the problem with EZ-outs is that they will break if you apply much force and then you have to extract the EZ-out stub which can be done but not without
To use one
1. Buy the appropriate size for the bolt at NAPA
2. Drill the appropriate size hole in the center of the bolt. (Use a new bit with lubricant and start with a center punch).
3. Tap the EZ-out in the hole and unscrew. BUT DON'T USE MUCH FORCE. If it won't come out refer to the results of your search on this forum.

2.b - Try to drill the hole dead center and square, so if the easy out doesn't work than you can drill the bolt out & rethread. (Learned that on the hard way)

Just get a heli-coil kit from napa for that size.
We deal with frozen bolts all the time because of the salt water. The fastest and least risky way is to use a heli-coil. If you break a easy-out your in trouble.
