alcan .icant thank you enuf, youve identifyed alot of motors for me in the last few months.this motor popped up in the local classifids here in richmond monday, for sale 60$.i didnt have the money till friday,i called friday eve to see if it was still their, and it was!!!! this turned out to be the cleanest motor i have found yet.its all origonal,i spent about 2 hours mulling over this motor in awww.they say in the antique motor circles you win some and you loosse some,i won!!!!!!. i pulled the starter recoil assm. off to look under it and you cant tell the difference between the paint under the cover and the paint on the sides!wow.how ever the immpellar is wore slam out.never seen one so worn.the guy igot it from said he was running it and it started to smell hot and it stopped peeing so he cut it off, thank god.ive got a new one on the way as we speak.as for lower unit oil what do you recamend?how should i mix the fuel for this old girl?this is going to be a user motor for me this year.its that clean.i won! i won! i won! thanks again small block :)

All right, you got a good looker too! I don't know what it takes to kill these things. They just seem to run for ever. I have had several of those 5hp T models over the years. Some where pretty beat up, but I can't recall ever not being able to make one go. I use 24:1 mix, and 90wt gear oil. Be a little carefull with the ignition, as those parts are becoming harder to find, and cost too much when you find them. They have little bake-a-lite sticks that open the points. They stick sometimes. Just clean the contacts and lightly oil those sticks. A friend gave me a TD about two years ago. When I get board I gas her up, put it in the tank and let it run as slow as it will, untill it runs out of gas. Takes pretty much all day. This motor looks like the devil, but never misses a beat.
