What exactly do you mean by a tech?
A service technician?
A technical manual?

It might help to know where you are located.

And what is the problem with the engine?

OK.

All Force 150 hp from 1989 thru 1991 revision "B", use a 20 pole tach.

Newer models use a 12 pole tach, I believe.

Some tach can be switched to be used on a 20 or a 12 pole system.

Teleflex model 53743p or faris # DD2TC9819A are both 20 pole tachs.

If you need a 12 pole tach, most any will do.

You can get one from sporqster.com for $24 - 20 pole marine. Mine's on order along with water pressure, head temp and voltmeter.
