I have above motor, specifically Sears branded model# 217-5888-2. Just bought it with boat and it ran fine for about 1.5 hrs.
Now it's having trouble starting/running.
Maybe a gas issue, need to try the right mix...32:1?. I did have a higher mix of gas in it earlier to see if that would atleast get it going, no luck.
I can start it ok when in gear, choke off. In neutral just won't do a thing for me.
Have cleaned spark, and messed with the distance of spark from the end, could this be issue?
Even when I get is started, it never seems to get to full power, and cuts off when I try to idle it.
It does seem to behave when I pump it gas, but I'm not sure this is the issue. I have put on a new caliper that joins gas tube to the gas reciever on the motor.
Any ideas? (sorry, I'm a newbie)
