You need to give us more info, Odie. Get a model number off the transom clamp.

Many manufacturers have made engines for Sears. Some aircooled, some watercooled.

Do not use leaded gas. Use 87 octane unleaded. That sticker was from the late 60s-early 70s when unleaded was pretty terrible stuff. Modern unleaded is far superior.

If your engine is air cooled it needs a 16:1 or 24:1 mix with chainsaw oil. If it is water cooled, use 50:1 mix with TC-W3 outboard oil.

Let us know more. :)

I found this jewel at a yard sale yesterday. its my first outboard. who made it, did sears sell it, and are there quirks i should know about.. it looks brand new, has been hanging in a garage unused for years i was told by the new owners of the house sold by the kids of the old folks just put into the nursing home. was too
cheap to pass up.

it was sold by sears, says to use only leaded gas, where is that availabe today?, and did it have an auxiliary tank or is the builtin the only one for gas. there is a quick connect on the shift handle for something? what could it be?

That's a 1976 7.5hp you've got yourself there, Odewbhav. It was made by the Eska company for Sears. The information I've got says it's ok to run a 32:1 mix in that engine, but I would probably use the heavier 24:1 mix JB suggests. The engine is air-cooled, so you want to use chainsaw oil in it.
