I recently bought a Sears 7hp in good condition but I could not get it to run without squirting some gas into the cylinder. I took the carb apart and the main needle is missing. I checked with sears and it's no longer available. Any suggestions?

Model number, please. Lots of folks made Sears' outboards. If it's air-cooled, it's probably an Eska. If so, go to www.certifiedpartscorp.com and call the number you find there. You will need the model number of your outboard. If that's impossible, try to find the numbers on the carburetor. There should also be a tag on the engine, somewhere, that gives the block number of the Tecumseh engine in that thing.

The company I mentioned has the most extensive stock of Eska parts anywhere. If it exists, they have it.

That's a 1971 7 hp with a twist grip throttle. It was built by Eska. It has a Tecumseh engine and a Tillotson carburetor.

That web site I mentioned in the earlier message can supply all parts for it, and should have manuals, as well. Go there, then call them.
