Any idea's on how to remove 2-4-c teflon grease from gimbal bearing without removing the outdrive?
Installed the grease into grease fitting on starboard stern, read thru manual realized teflon based could damage bearing.
Does it have to be removed? Can I just add new/proper grease thru fitting?

jim, even if you pull the drive and remove the bearing to clean it ,removal will damage it.I just read the bulletin, but it does not say why not,or what will happen if you use the teflon grease.
I would pump about 20 shots of the right grease in,while it's running. This will help flush the old grease out.Do it a couple of times.Next time the drive is off, clean out this build up.
If the bearing starts to fail, you'll hear a rumbling at the transom. If you do serious big water, change it NOW.
DHP
