Anyone use it on installation?? I spend some time watching my boiler guy do some work on my boiler. He used teflon tape and some pipe dope on some of the parts he replaced. Now when I did my manifolds and risers it stated specifically NOT to use it on the pipefitting plugs yet the valve/outlet hose fitting looked like it came with the white teflon tape painted on the threads already.Got me thinking if I should use it when I replace a slightly leaking cylinder.Charlie

trim cylinders dont leak if the threaded portion has not degraded from corrosion or has been stripped. the sealing surface is the flare, not the threads
You do not use teflon on any sensor that needs a good ground connection to operate

Ayuh,... No tape, No sealant,...

It's exactly like an automotive brake line, 'n seals on the inverted flare,..

your boiler was NPT fittings. those need tape or dope

if your cylinder is leaking, either the flair is damaged, or you have a seal out in the cylinder, or you have a bad crimp on the hose end.
