Steering on my 20' pontoon boat is unbalanced. I get 2 full turns of the wheel to the right and only 1 turn left.. Anyone know how I can fix this so I get 1 ? turns each way? Thanks.

Need to know what your setup is. Pictures really help.

If you have a tilt tube on your motor - Might have the wrong steering arm adapter.

If you have tube clamp setup - move the tube in relation to the clamp.

you have to take the cable out of the gear box and put it in until its centered, i just put in a new system on mine start out with the motor centered then feed in the cable

Welcome Aboard! Can I send you a PM?

Red - I've come across a few of your recent posts asking to PM. I would like to suggest that you keep the conversation in the open forum. First you are locking out any member that can offer advice, and second, any member looking for solutions for the same type of problem won't see how it is or was resolved.

This forum is really a resource library written by our members and the information in all the threads. Thanks.

Is your motor lined up straight when wheel is straight and centered? I made that mistake when installing a new steering cable. I unhooked and reinstalled cable and now it's good.

Thanks. I'll take some pictures when I get a chance to work on it again.
I was able to gain on this a bit the other morning, though. The guy I bought the boat from had the control arm attached to the wrong hole/attachment point on the steering bracket. I moved it from the outside hole to the inside hole. I was also able to disonnect the cable at the tilt tube and reattach with the motor at the full left turn position. Something still seems to be keeping the motor from turning 'full left'.

If you disconnect the control arm will the motor swing all the way in both directions?
