I just replaced my 19' cable (teleflex rotary) on my 2001 Sweetwater. I called the manufacturer to get the length. They told me 18' so I ordered that, but it turned out I needed a 19' cable.
So best thing is to remove the old and measure it, or find the part # on the cable which should have the length on it. Next best thing is to use the measuring guides to measure with the cable in place. Had I used that, it would also have given me the correct length.
I found Overton's did not carry a 19' so I went to West Marine. They were able to order just the cable instead of the whole system which includes the rotary helm. That saved me about $75.00. I see no reason to replace the helm too. It works fine.
