Tell me about the 1996 mercury 75...

I picked up a 1996 merc 75 yesterday. I don't really know what I'm going to do with it but it came from a trusted source who has been storing it for a few years. Visually it looks good, over the winter I'll get it cleaned up and running.

I'm curious about details on this motor. So far I found that it is a 75 with a 2.33 gear ratio. I'd like to know what family of motors its from, does it share parts with any other mercs etc.
