Telltale?

Maybe I'm just a dummy.... but where is the telltale on my 1977 Evinrude 85hp V4? And how much water should I see? a steady stream?

Not an expert myself, but on my 74 all you will see is a light spray comming out the exhaust relief once the motor has warmed up, yours might be the same.

I have a 77, 70HP Johnson, no telltale (just the spray from the exhaust). There appears to be a peehole on the front (transom side) of the motor. After running and pulling the boat out of the water and raising the motor a steady stream of water will drain from this hole. I have never checked it while running.
