Have a 1971 Merc 800 80hp that I'm trying to install a temp gauge for.
Having trouble finding a sending unit in a 1/8" pipe thread. Most seem to be 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" pipe.
The other issue is that I have located a gauge that reads from 60-200 degrees which is ideal for these cool running motors. The sending units that I have seen, in the larger thread sizes, show a range from 100-240 or 120-260.
How can I be sure the sending unit is compatible with the gauge range?
Any thoughts?
