Hi guys i took my boat out for the first time today...its a 1989 3.0l mercruser its been with the mechnic for a few mounths being serviced etc...ok every thing was great it ran well but when i got back i let it cool down and restarted it...the temp gauge did not rise at all when it did before i went out...the mechnic put a new themostat in and all seem well and he took me for a sea trial about a mounth ago when we got back he changed the timing cover and gasket as it was leaking oil...he ran the boat up but could not get the temp to rise....he said he checked the thermostat and said rust was clogging it up...he cleaned it and refitted....i wonder it that has happened now?....if so do i just remove it and clean it and if so do i need a new gasket fot the housing...plus i noticed a small amout of oil in the builge...it looks like it is coming out of the rocker cover gasket at the back of the engine by the carb...is that a hard thing to replace with all the cables on top of the rocker cover....any help would be welcome thx...Lawson
