I have an 87 175HP Evinrude. In the factory harness, is a tan wire, that goes to the warning horn, that is for temperature. Can I split that wire, and use is as a "sender" or "signal" wire to a temperature gauge?

Thanks guys!!

Re: Temp gauge question.

That would be a no. Those are a make/break switch based on a preset Temp. It just signals (closes the switch) when it is at its over-heat tempature.

You will need to locate a Temp sender for each bank, and a guage...Or some people here have done a single Sender at a common point, with only one guage...Less effective, but allows you to shut down if problems.

Iboats has them here I believe....Do a search, some of the folks here stated where they got the parts and type/models.
