I ran into some trouble with burning up rings or something in my 200hp merc because of a cooling problem. Although my temp gauge never went over 175. It starts below 150 and rises until 175...after that it never goes higher. I want the most accurate way to measure my engines temperature. Is there an aftermarket gauge that you all recommend?? I want one with a warning horn and light as mine does not have one. Thank you.

A 'Murphy' gauge can be set to cut the engine or sound a horn etc at whatever temp you set them. Not cheap but ive always liked them
