OMC 2.3 Cobra setup. Started up and ran perfect first time this season, the only problem is that the temperature gauge doesn't seem to be working. I will try to install a new thermostat but I'm more suspicious of the gauge having an issue. Where would you start to troubleshoot it.

Ayuh,.... Check to see if there's power to the (+) terminal on the back of the gauge,.....

At the Sender, remove the wire, 'n ground it out to a known good ground,...
The gauge should Peg hot,....
With a jumper wire, test to see that the senders base is a solid ground,...

If the gauge pegs, the sender is bad, if it don't, it's probably the gauge,....

Found it. Seems like gauge and sender are working. Must be a thermostat issue.... Not warming up. staying cold...

I am thinking that I could place thermostat the wrong way in... Does anyone remember if the spring has to face the manifold or not?
