I have a mercruiser add on temperature sensor on my Hurth transmission. It has 2 spade connectors. and I think a temperature rating of 212 or 215 degrees. Mercruiser wants 200.00 for this sensor. It looks just like an automotive temperature switch but with 2 wires instead of 1.

Any ideas about an automotive switch that looks like this? it is 1/2 NPT

even though this is a Mercruiser part, It was added by the boat manufacturer during installation. I should say that a replacement part that is equivalent is a Mercruiser part. I am not certain where the original part came from. Since the boat is a Brunswick, made by U.S. Boats which owns Mercruiser, I suspect it is a Mercruiser part.

I also suspect that the same part is widely used in automotive and industrial applications. This would be the part on a car that makes the temperature light come on.

It is a Hurth 630A transmission

I haven't removed the sensor yet. The boat is not close by for me to get any part numbers or serial numbers
