Just picked up a used 2004 mercury 2 stroke 25 hp. Model # 1025301cd. Motor runs and looks immaculate. Upon giving it a once over I can't seem to find any temp sensor. Does this model have one? Thanks for any responses.

Look around the block for a tan or tan with a light blue striped wire that goes to the remote wiring harness connector....I guess a 25 has one like the larger engines. On the larger engines it's on the rear of the block. Yours could be there or at the top or side rear of the block.

Been a few days since I had some time to get back here. Thanks for responding. No tan wire anywhere. Familiar with where it should be located, but nothing there. I'm just wondering how are you supposed to know if its overheating. Found a few plastic bags over the years when my overheat horn started blaring. Do you think its feasible to add one since there is already a horn in my control box?
