I have a fishing trip planned for Thanksgiving (in the balmy Gulf South). My boat is always trailored, but it'll be wet-slipped for about a week in salt water. Since it has no bottom paint, will I do any harm to the gel coat? Thanks for your advice.

Re: Temporary Wet Slip

you probably want to wait for more replies, but i kept my boat in the water with no paint for about 2 1/2 weeks this year. no apparent damage to the hull, but the brackish waters of the chesapeake bay left some stains. took some heavy duty cleaners to get it off, but not really a problem.

I suggest to apply a real! good coat of wax, you will still get some stains at the water line. Use a soft brush and clean each day.

it'll be fine for a week, Wax what you can near the water line will make it easier to clean when removed you won't get much marine growth in a week.
