Did you want those instructions in English or in cyberspeech?

Seriously, it's a lot to expect to ask that someone here spend the time needed to give you a step-by-step guide to painting your boat.

I suggest a trip to the public library. They will have good books on boat repair and maintenance, including painting.

You could also do a search here and see what folks have already written on boat painting. You see, it all depends on the type of boat, the materials used for the hull, whether it's going to be in fresh or salt water, plus lots of other things.

I doubt that anyone is going to write you a book on the subject. Such books already exist.

You may have noticed that this forum is written by folks who write carefully, and in standard English. I suggest you do the same.

Just go to the marine paint manufacturer's web sites. They all have instructions and even videos for sale that show you step-by-step how to do it. The interlux one is pretty good.

boatman1100, i am out here.
I can help you as much as i can. Best to keep this thread public here so other people can input and learn.
You need to give me a little more information.
What skills do you possess?
what type of boat and what condition is the surface in, what type of surface?
Do you know anything about marine or 2 pac 2paint systems?
You need to give me something to work with. Then I'm sure we can all help you out.

Cheers

CAT - No darts intended for boatman but you wrote "You may have noticed that this forum is written by folks who write carefully, and in standard English. I suggest you do the same."

Folks cut themselves short when they don't write carefully. Some, if not many, of us will bypass posts that are difficult to read.

Some of us are foreigners and do the best we can in writing. I think this forum is the best source for anyone trying to do their own repair or rebuild, just by gathering the information there already is. Add to that, that almost everyone here are willing to comment an extra project there has a new problem.

SoLittle,

Yes, a lot of folks skip threads that are written badly, or with all caps. It always does you a disservice if you write sloppily.

G Dane,

There is a difference between someone writing English as a second language and someone using the abbreviated speech used in chat rooms. We all understand that someone who doesn't write in English as a first language may have trouble. It's a different matter when a native English-speaker writes using this kind of gibberish.

You actually write very well in English. Much better than our English-speaking poster at the top of this thread.

I'm sure tengals123 work is superb...but I wouldn't judge peoples expertise based on pics posted on the web. You can't tell a bad job from good one in any pic. The only info you can see is color and shine.

Just to make sure everyone understands...I didn't mean negatives on tengals123. My intent was aimed at being aware of people who don't know what they are doing but have good looking pics. It is extremely difficult to see brushmarks, etc in pics.

Re: Tengals i want ur help but ill take ne ones

BillP, no offence is taken. Although I must back myself in this situation. My proceedure were correct and I do not have any brush marks whatsoever. My paint leveled after tipping, so that no brush marks showed in the final coats at all. What I am left with though that is prolly harder to see in the pics is a slight orange peel.
I understand where you are comming from and agree with you, but the original post was at face value. The starter saw some pics, like what he saw and wanted to find out more. As stated, i know you are not having a personal dig at my work.
What i'll try and do is post a high resolution pic of the boat's surface for all to see.

Cheers

Here is a well written step by step description from a fellow member. It may save some time to look it over.
