Terhi outboards?????

Can anyone help?<br /><br />I am considering buying a terhi outboard. Its either 12hp or 20hp, It looks it good condition (and is cheap). Sold with indentical one for spares. But does anyone know anything about these engines? I want somthing to tinker with over the winter. <br /><br />Thanks, Sam

Could you give us a little more info.Maybe model/sreial numbers,where manufactured.Number of cylinders. Maybe just a clue as to language.A guess as to the approximate decade it was built. Electronic or points magneto make of carb.Maybe a picture.<br /> Have you tried a search on the web?

I did a quick search Terhi boats are built in Finland.My guess is the Terhi motor is badge engineered possibly by some obscure European builder. to be sold by Terhi.I did find a 5 hp Terhi motor for sale.The whole first page had references to Terhi Boats and motors Though I didn't find motors proper.My guess is parts will be a nightmare,even over there.There seems to be plenty of Terhi boat dealers one surely could help with motor info.

Thanks for info,<br />The outboards are twin cylinder, I think they have bing carbs. One is has a starter motor, but dont know about magneto.
