TERRIBLE NOISE ????????

still having problems with tilt/trim motor; goes up fine, sounds normal, when going down, it hesitates and makes a terrible screeching noise. Engine is a 70hp Nissan, unk manufacture of thetilt motor. Any ideas what this could be ?? How much do new motors cost ? Are the universal/interchangeable?

i have had similar problem which i am currently trying to sort out.<br /><br />problem is most likely solenoids which control the flow in pump. when problem occurs hit the other button then down again. may unstick it.<br /><br />apparently solenoids are replaceable.
