Here's an idea...let's make the result of terrorism so horiffic that no country or it's citizens woud be willing to harbor any one that would commit a terrorist act.

We have to play by the rules...they don't....and they never have...

Some tree huggers (Cindy Sheehan) scream out that we don't give them three meals a day......while they are planning to bomb our children...

If they don't play by the rules, WHY SOULD WE ?

I say...

Behead a hostage.....We destroy a mosque...

Bomb a building ......We take out a town...

Hi-jack an aircraft......we kill everyone in a city......period

Take it a step further.... we use low yeild nuclear bombs on their country.... THE SAME WAY WWII WAS ENDED...!!!....duh...

(Note to Russia.....No **** ..Your gonna want to sit this one out...) (and they will...!!)

These are not soldiers that wear a uniform...they are civillians.. But we have to make sure we don't kill civillians....What a joke...

Let's make it so horrific that people would turn them in even if they thought they were a terrorist...

Hell,.. we do it if we think our neighbor is a pedofile.

I hope they don't **** the mob off...then we might actually get something done....

hey i think the nazis tried that one against the french resistance, all the votes arent in but i think it didnt work out so well for them.

terrorism wont exist if we can find a cure for crazy, stupid and ambitious. then again our own government might not work so well either.

Saddam is on trial for similar tactics.

It might work as long as you're the biggest kid on the block, but you have to hope a bigger kid doesn't move in next door.

That is one of those ideas that in theory sounds great and I agree with you Kevin. Trouble is in the real world it really won't work. There are always going to be crazies living in rocks and caves like these goons. What we need to do is cut off money supplies, communications, and individually take them out. Once again sounds good in theory but putting it in place is a different story. We need to fight on their level however which was the big mistake in Viet Nam. We can't fight a regular war with an enemy that doesn't wear uniforms.

I'm with you Kevin and have wriiten my Senators and Congressmen to voice just that. Time to take the gloves off.
I'm and tired of hearing that we killed 5 civilains and it's headlines for a week, but when they, the terrorists do it, it barley gets mentioned (unless it's a beheading of a soilder, then it's only for a day)
When the Israeli's kill civilians, it's horrible, but that's all Hammas and Hezbollah do is kill the innocent and it's not a big deal.
It's not right and I know we are better than they are moraly, but eough is enough. Time to bring down the hammer on these jacka###. We may not get all of them, but the governments that to harbor and finance them may get the message.

The Arabs have been fighting this going back before World War One

I am only seeing both sides fight harder and NO progress just a lot of dead people

I also find it hard to believe with the various CIA type groups watching over things how you arm up Lebanon that much

Middle east countries have to stop calling truces as soon as one gets the upper hand on the other.

The only solution is for one to annihilate the other. That means when one starts winning, it continues to win until the losing country is erased from the face of the earth.

Then they will have peace and the rest of us can continue with our vacationing and sight seeing un-disturbed in that region of the world.

Re: Terrorism...Quick fix...Probably won't happen

Well Sadaam goes on a hunger strike, nearly starves himself to death...We put in a feeding tube? Why?

We're too soft on terrorism! I really don't like the thought of killing other people, but if it comes down to someone trying to kill me or threatening to kill my family... I will fight to the death!!! If I know they are planning to kill me, I will do what I can to get to them before they get the chance.

Countries of the Middle East have been killing one another in the name of their respective religions for thousands of years, it is a different mindset than we have here in the west. There is very little for many to live for over there. No real hope of a way out, no American dream. Look at Ireland, used to be bombings daily, there was little hope of economic prosperity; then the economy took a turn for the better, jobs began to pay well. There was suddenly something for a young man to do, big-screen TV's, a car, decent place to live, plenty to eat, heck even a boat wasn't out of reach!!! All of the sudden, hope had returned, wasn't too much desperation left to fuel a revolution.

The people of the Middle East take it all one step further, the mindset is VASTLY different from ours from birth! A death for the cause is worth far more than life here on earth; that is dangerous for the rest of us who value our lives.

If killing one innocent civilian makes you a terrorist, what does annihilating a complete village make you?
If you think that you want to pass judgement you should also be the executioner, that might make you think a little more before passing judgement.
The hardest part in any war on terrorism is the struggle to maintain our own set of values and principles.

Re: Terrorism...Quick fix...Probably won't happen

There is several ways to level the playing field and most of it can be done with the media. I feel if they can print stuff that is not 100% accurate, why not purposely print fictional stories that are part true.

Future Headlines:

"USA Recruiting Potentiial Sucide Victims to Fight"
USA already has the highest suicide number in the world. Might as well let them do something good for their country on their way out.

"USA Cuts Defense Budget by Eleminating Uniforms"
Lets save money, stop uniform requirements and make it real interesting for the terrorists to figure out who is who. BTW paint all HumVees civilian colors.

"USA to Exile and Deport All Life Term and Death Row Convicts to the Middle East Totally Armed"
This is good time to take the tax burden off the tax payers and clean out the prisons. Then no more need to build bigger prisons. (until the next war)

"USA Researching a Bomb to Make it Rain Pig Blood"
Wanna bet that they would be upset to have their precious land desecrated entirely by pigs blood.

"USA to Cut Off All Exports of Grain to Middle East and Terrorist Supporting Countries"
Let Allah feed them!

"USA No Longer Concerned Over War Casualties, Death Rate State Side More of a Concern"
Yep, more die on our highways and the hands of others than they do in the war.

Then on each news story it would be followed by "We report, you find the facts"!

I know we get upset with the news that is reported and we can't do much about it. A cartoon gets printed and it causes the Middle East to get their attitudes all fired up causing riots.

There is tons of truth in "The Pen is Mightier than the Sword" It could be our best weapon ever.

I think the pig blood bomb is a great idea!!! Won't kill anyone, but that would be the ultimate diss! Instead of cutting off grain shipments, soak it all in bacon grease; tell them about it a few months later!

The hardest part in any war on terrorism is the struggle to maintain our own set of values and principles.
I'm hoping we get rid of the more recent "values and principles" we've come to rely on. The United Nations needs to take a hike. And this costly concept (liberal)of being the 'Worlds police" needs to be seen as a failed era for the history books.
The sooner we mind our own business the sooner all the terrorists nations will implode into themselves.
While isolationism may very well look like a viable option in time for many more.
I'm for a little distance in that direction on the whole dang mess.
I'm for closing down a whole lot of Embassys in the middle east. Bring all the soldgers home from everywhere. Put them on the borders and the entire Navy 200 miles from home.
Shut our eyes, ears and mouths to anything foriegn for a few years.
Mind our own business right here, concentrate here at home the values of being a shineing example rather than rebuilding nations.
I'm thinking it's more conservative to let Korean's fight for Korea and Iraqi's fight for Iraq.

Re: Terrorism...Quick fix...Probably won't happen

Sorry I'm posting to an old post, But I took a breather from Iboats, to enjoy the fruits of DonS's, Bondo's, Kagee's and Haut Medic's ...help. Yup...I've been boating...!! (I did all the work...they supplied the advice...lol...PS...and the burn turned into tan...go figure)

Had to respond here for just a minute, so indulge me if you would.

Thanks for all the replies to this post....Touchy subject at best...

Rottenray...I agree...let's take out their extremely complex network of financing....and it is complex....Mosque's in CA doing car wash fund raiser's.... and I'd like to take out the cell phones...You did here about the two guys buying "80" pre-paid cell phones in a Wal-mart in Ohio at 2:00am...turns out they were innocent...but that's how they work.. I agree on the Vietnam issue you mentioned as well..

Rolmops,
I agree one must attempt to keep Values and Principles that guide our day to day lives as you stated in your post. These are the building blocks that allow us to achieve happiness and that have allowed us to achieve this way of living in a free society. These are great for our "Day to Day Lives".

But when dealing with other individuals that have no value in human life and hate EVERYTHING that our lives stand for....I say that we cannot extend our values and principle's to them on the battlefield...(Key point being..THESE ARE OUR VALUES...NOT THIER'S) Why in the hell should we share them with them...Do you share that value against a rabid dog that just but your daughter...HELL NO...you shoot it...

You whine about bombing a house full of terrorist's....When Zarkawi was killed in the bombing last month, a woman and little girl were killed...you didn't see major headlines about our massive abuse...

It's kinda like saying to the cops...I was only hanging out in that drug house,..lol.....Guess what...It's the friends you keep...and that was my point to begin with....

Kill a hostage...we'll kill a city...
And it did work in Japan...they surrendered two days later...

We are too soft on terrorism.
Extreme measures are needed to combat or stop extremist actions.

got my vote.

Mark that thought may have shed a little light on the mentality of the middle east experince.

Note during Desert Storm Hussein flew his entire airforce into a mortal enemy's country when the US started it's campaign (Mortal enemy defined.......... killing 1 million people during a war, Iran)

Israel's history of handing anyone's @## to them when they start a conflict, including taking part of there country,.........But note they never DECIMATE the country never. And yet they alway's come back for more.

Recently Israel litteraly in just a muscular police action almost destroyed Lebanon and just when there going for a massive kill they pull back under the pressure of the world press.......... Did they learn anything.........there being rearmed daily as we speak. (kinda like uncle sam huh)

Opps almost forgot Iraq 1 yup again there military was almost again destroyed yet at the last second we pulled back and let them off the hook...........what did they learn........well its time to kill Kurds and if the US create's a barrirer who care's

Japan and Germany............ that was different ............................. both countries had there populations i will say massacured........read some info on the firebombing's both countries endured. Then read how America Brittan and Russia occupied Germany after the cease fire, there to there was resistance and the absloute brutality that was used to stop it. And Japan well there the only country that faced nuclear warfare.

It's a sad lesson history teaches, but it is history.

I think it was rmmpe (correct me if I'm wrong) that said on another thread something along the line of:

There are 2 types of Moslems, the extremists, and those that enable. They are taught from their childhood to hate Americans and their religion teaches no higher glory than to kill a non-believer. (sorry if I botched it)

Make no mistake, this war on terror is really a war on a religion, a religion that leave no room in this world for people of other faiths, and the sooner we come to accept this, and act accordingly, the better off the whole world will be.
