test for coil's

Hi guy's any one know if there is a way to bench test a coil and if so could you, tell me how i have an ohm meter,
but no idea how to use it.

The coils that i am testing are on a 1964 40 hp sea horse

All is going well with things
Just want to make sure idon't replace stuff that is ok.

If they're original or any kind of cracks in them, I'd replace em. Sierra's are cheap to get.
