yes , could use some information ,about testing force electronic ignition parts ..the shop manual calls for a dva meter to test the electronic parts.. could a good grade digital volt /ohm meter be used ? i want to test the trigger , cd power packs, (think) i know dv a.. the last letter a means adapter, and refers me to mercury dealer..the engine to be tested is a force 125 hp model #1251x8c ..bayliner capri , cutty. with above engine..

thanks for your time , to help me on this ..i had contacted the mercury dealer in our area , and he told me i did not need a dva adapter to check , but feel i do , ya have directed me , along the right tract ... thanks

no dva for ohms
dva for volts

the reason why is that the stator/triggers puts out pulses of volts, a digital meter will give u a false reading all day long

ur merc dealer is right if testing ohms
