test overheat alarm

How do you test to see if the over heat alarm is working on your 85 hp force outboard...


I bought a new buzzer but want to make sure it actually works

You need to look at/find the overheat sensor on the cylinder head, remove the wire, ground it to say the engine block or what have you, and with the ignition energized the buzzer/horn etc. should sound. Hope this makes sense...

Piece of wire.Ground it on a bare piece of metal.Key on.Touch the ORANGE lead on the terminal with the other end of the wire.It should activate the buzzer.
Fill out the profile.You might be close to someone who can help(or you might be close enough to take me fishing:) :) Jerry
