Test procedures for ruling out spark problems

I can't get my mind off of this issue # 3 no spark spent 12!! hours on it finally the wife convinced me to walk away for the day Ive gone though book few times and cecked and double check wiring it is correct according to selco. what test can be done to narrow the problem part as I don't want to spend good money after bad. any help would be really appreciated Im going to go nuts if I can't correct this thanks

What model and year engine do you have? There are several different ignition systems used on the various models. Without that information, there's not much we can do.

Im dealing with this 1985 85hp force still I lost spark again to #3 cylinder

What parts have you replaced (if any). Can you give me a run down on exactly what happened from the beginning?

Check out my post its named " first ride kind of a succsess need help" I am having the same problem on my 50 and the gentleman puddlejumper has been giving me very good directions on how to test differant parts. hope I could help.


p.s. no I havent fixed mine yet. had to put it on hold for the holiday weekend and bad weather here in the northeast. good luck.
