Hi, and thanks to those who responded to my post "1991 90 hp power loss". I have removed the stator to inspect and test it. It is a Prestolite with 4 brown wires which go to a common bar, and 2 heavier yellow wires which go to the rectifier. My manual briefly discusses the test procedure and gives a resistance range of 0.5 to 1.1. However, I don't know how to use my tester (duh!) which is a Micronta Range Doubler Multitester made in 1982. Any tips on how to test this stator would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Dave
