I have a problem with my Force 50 HP (Model 507X7C Year 1987 with Prestolite CD ignition) is not creating a spark in either spark plug. I have been following the Clymer manual to check out the stator. I purchased a DVA for my meter, but it only reading the same (12 volts) with or without adapter to the blue wires on the to stator. With the meter on AC (with out the DVA) I read about 100 volts (which may mean the DVA is not working). This stator is different than most, as it only has one wire going to each CD. Is there another way to test this stator besides the DVA voltage? The blue wires test above 20-M Ohms and there is no short to ground on either blue wire. The charging side of the stator reads 1 ohm, which is in limits. The stator appearance is normal and the magnet on the flywheel is in perfect condition. If anyone has a Selco Manual it may have more test methods than my Clymer manual.
