Hello All,
I've searched the forums and cannot find a definitive answer to my dilemma.
My 1978 trim gauge has stopped working right after I installed my tach. (maybe I blew it up...)
I do not have an ohm meter at this moment to test the sending unit but I do fear it's the gauge itself. (what are the odds that I'm under the dash where the trim gauge is and the sending unit at the back of the boat dies...).
Power, ground, illumination to guage is good. Trim gauge indicates full UP position when key is turned. I'm assuming that open curcuit indicates UP and closed curcuit indicates DOWN. Grounding out the SIGNAL to GROUND should drop the guage to DOWN. Tried it, nothing...
Is my assumption correct. GROUND to SIGNAL jumper will indicate DOWN on guage?
Please weigh in everybody.
Thx,
Jack
