Texas trailer inspections?

Here's a silly question. Do trailers under 4500# need to be inspected in Texas? I've been looking all over the DPS and DOT websites and all the information I've found says no, but I'd rather make sure than wind up getting a ticket.

I've lived in Texas over 30 years, and have registered many trailers in that time. Have not heard of any trailer inspection of any kind. Heck, the local farmers and ranchers even look at you like your crazy if you mention safety issues like chains, etc. Some if not most of them don't even register trailers.

Thanks, that's what I was hoping. Just one less thing to deal with. I know that you have to get an inspection if you build a trailer, but there's a way around that one.

So no title, no inspection... at least they make SOMETHING easy... ok let's go with "less difficult" ;)
