You never know, really, who'll win a game...but the way Texas did in Colorado today, and a few others along the way, I think USC is going to get their heads handed to them.

Re: Texas vs USC

Texas had better not get too big headed here...

A&M took them to the wire a week ago. Colorado played so poorly against Nebraska and again yesterday, one wonders how they got into the championship game in the first place. Thoughts here in the midwest is that the Big 12 is not very strong as a whole. Not like the old days anyway.

This game has the potential to be either the game of the decade or a real stinker.

I don't remember a game that held more promise of being the clash of the titans.

Could be a nail biter defensive contest, ending something like 5-2, or it could be all fireworks and end something like 65-60.

No predictions, but I am pulling for the 'Horns.

HOOK 'EM!!

There are no teams of note in either the Big 12 or the Pac-10 save for Texas and USC, so it's hard to tell, but Texas almost lost to Michigan and USC almost lost to Notre Dame.

I heard USC is opening as a 6 point favorite, and my money would be on them covering the spread. Reggie Bush and Leinart are amazing, and Pete Carrol is a defensive genious. He'll figure out a way of stopping Vince Young.

Would you like to place a small wager on that?

You're right...It was Ohio State, not Michigan. I knew it was one of the big 10 teams, and they are all not powerhouses this year either.

He will have to do a better job than he did against Paul Pinegar. :) I am looking for an even money bet and I can't lose.... :D

I have been, strangely enough, both a Longhorns and Trojan fan my whole life. Primarily USC.

Clarification, USC SHOULD have lost to Notre Dame. If you saw that comeback, you know of what I speak. That game was over, it was simply a miracle.

Leinhart had a carp day yesterday and he still threw for over 200 yards. Reggie Bush went for over 260 yards yesterday, and the total offense over 600 yards. Both teams are offensive machines. I don't see a defensive game . . .

BTW, Leinhart is great. The reason for his bad day yesterday was that it will be his final game in the Colliseum and he cried from before the kickoff until somewhere in the 2nd qtr. He just basically lost it, and the whole team was trying to snap him back to reality. There will be no such benefit to Texas in the Rose Bowl ;)

I agree that both teams are offensive machines, QC, but they are also defensive brick walls.

Each has had a "poor" game or two when they had to pull off miracles to win, but they did have what it took to pull them out and win.

If neither has a bad game on 1/1/06 it will be a barn burner.

Texas by 3.

The best stat I have seen is that both teams have scored somewhere around 600 points this season and each gave up around a 100. Yes, they can play defense too . . . I think Texas was a little bit stronger in each category.

I've got a sixer of cyber beer on USC by 6 :D
