I have drag raced cars for over 25 years, and we did 95% of all are motor,and car work. I have had boats for over 30 years, and always IO's. Last year I bought a boat with a 1987 90HP Johnson Crossflow (first large OB), and it ran fine last year, except it wouldnt charge the batt, and tech would only go to 3000 rpm. This year one of the stats stuck closed. I have a factory manual, but I must say this forum gave me alot of hints that where not in the book. Today I put in a new reg/rec, and its charging now and tech works, as it should. The 90HP is kind of a pain to work on, but even after doing the carbs, it wasnt that bad. I must thank all of you who gave me hands on info. I'm off to Big Green Lake for some fishing and relaxing for the next week, with a motor that runs as it should. Thanks Again.
