Don S made light of the fact that sometimes even brand new ignition control modules don't work...and it turns out he was right!

I had been working on my boat every day for the last 2 weeks...this last tip he gave me really paid out. The boat runs like a top!

I can't thank you enough, and I'm sure my wife feels the same since now I'll be able to get back to that honey-do list.

Glad it worked out for you. Now, do me a favor and do an update, or a reply to your original post about the problem and explain what the problem was.
When newbe's come here and use the search, and find posts with problems and suggestions as to the problem it doesn't really help if they don't know what finally fixed the problem. But if you post that it was a bad NEW module, they will know it's a possibility.

Hey Don,

I'll add my thanks too for your posting of that Mercruiser Service Bulletin on the risers/gaskets on another thread.

I am installing a new San Juan Engr full closed cooling system and they sent me the the earlier type riser and block-off gaskets.

I had the right ones but would have used the ones in the kit had I not seen that posting.

Rick, glad you found the proper gaskets......... Why does your DP animation make my cursor stupid???????

I don't know why it would affect your cursor.....unless you're using MS Internet Explorer It sometimes does some strange things....

That animation is 24 pictures I took with the wifes camera that were about 1.5m each. The resulting animation was about 900mb before being scaled.

My 14 yo daughter used GIMP to combine, scale and animate them.
http://www.gimp.org/ just choose the appropriate one for your operating system (I use LINUX .....I dumped Windows back in 1999)

You should be able to right click on the animation and "save as" if you want.
